Understanding Your Annual Notice Of Change (ANOC)
September 8, 2026Each fall, before Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15–Dec. 7), you'll receive an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) in the mail. It helps you understand any changes to your Medicare Advantage plan that start January 1, so you'll know what to expect for next year.
This short video walks you through your ANOC and shows you where to find the information that's most important to review.
You'll learn:
- Where to start in your ANOC
- Which changes to review
- Which other plan documents to check

This fall, before Medicare’s annual enrollment period, you’ll receive an Annual Notice of Change or ANOC in the mail.
0:14
It walks you through the updates to your coverage for the new plan year that begins January 1, so you know what to expect when you open your ANOC.

A great place to start is the side-by-side summary near the front.
0:29
It compares your coverage this year with next year’s so it's easy to see what’s staying the same and what’s changing.
0:36
If there are changes to your premium copays or out-of-pocket maximum, you’ll see them here.
0:43
You’ll also see any changes to your extra benefits like your over-the-counter allowance.
0:48
Also, if your plan includes Part D prescription drug coverage, you’ll see any changes to your drug deductible and what you pay at each drug tier.
0:58
And remember, the ANOC is just an overview.
